Paper Chick

You will need:

• 1 piece of orange construction paper
• 2 pieces of yellow construcion paper
• 2 googly eyes
• 2 paper fasteners
• A pencil
• Craft glue
• Scissors

Trace each of your child's hands onto a sheet of yellow construction paper. Cut out the two paper hands. Each hand will be a wing for your chick. Cut out an egg shape from the other sheet of yellow construction paper. This egg will be the chick's body. Using the paper fasteners, connect the bottom palm of the hands about an inch (2.5 cm) down each side of the skinnier end of the egg. Now you have a bird body with moveable wings.

Using the orange construction paper, cut out a beak and two legs with feet for the chick. Glue the nose on where the face should be, and the legs to the bottom of the egg body. Glue the googly eyes above the nose.

If you want to use this chick as a card write a message on its belly.
