Leprechaun Hat
To make a leprechaun hat you will need:
- An empty, clean oatmeal can or similar cylinder-shaped object (like an ice cream carton)
- A few sheets of green construction paper
- One sheet each of yellow and black construction paper
- glue.
Use green construction paper to wrap the oatmeal canister and glue in place. Trace around a round cake pan or something round and similar in size onto another sheet of green construction paper. Trace the oatmeal canister inside that circle to form an inner circle. Cut out around the outer circle and cut out the inner circle to form a ring. This will become the brim of your hat. Glue the brim to the bottom rim of the green cylinder. Cut a 2-inch (4 cm) strip out of the black construction paper. Glue this black strip around the green cylinder, about 1 inch (2 cm) above the brim. Cut a 4-inch (10 cm) square out of the yellow construction paper. Cut a 2-inch (4 cm) square out of the center of the 4-inch (10 cm) yellow square. The remaining outer square becomes the "buckle." Glue the buckle onto the center front of the hat, overlaying the black strip.
