Outdoor Safety Tips
Spring is a great time to sit down with your children and talk about safety when being outside.
- Remind your children to stop playing and move out of the road when a vehicle is coming.
- Don't talk to strangers.
- If you live near a wooded area give your child a tiny flashlight to hook onto their jacket zipper and a whistle in case they get lost.
- Go over any safety precautions that is necessary for your family.
- If you live near water, talk to them about the safety of being around water.
- If your children play in dusk or dark, be sure they have reflectors on themselves (wear white clothes also) and on their bikes.
- Show your child a photo of a bee hive or wasp nest and tell them the importance of staying away from the real deal.
