Fancy Pants

To make "fancy pants" you will need a pair of pants, felt, buttons, ribbon, or anything you can sew or glue onto the pants. Cut flowers, animals, or other shapes out of felt and use fabric glue to attach the shapes to your childs pants. Cut decorative ribbon, wrap it around the bottom of the pant leg, and sew on or attach with fabric glue. You can decorate just the bottom of the pant leg, go up the sides, or decorate the pockets.

If your child has a pair of pants that seem to fit well but are getting a little short on bottom, you can cut out a strip of fun decorative fabric and sew it to the bottom inside of the pant leg cuff. If you put little folds into the fabric by folding the fabric back on itself every 1/4 inch, then you will get a ruffly effect. You can also buy ruffly ribbon from a craft store.

If you have a child that is too young to sew or glue, they can choose the decorations and locations on the pants to be decorated.

Fancy pants are a great way for your child to express their style.
