Yarn Design
For this activity you will need
- A piece of 1/2 inch (1 cm) thick wood, approximately 12x12 inches (30 cm x 30 cm)
- Short, small headed nails
- Yarn
- A hammer
The parent should probably be the one to work with the hammer and nails. Create a design board by spacing the nails about 1/2 inch (1 cm) apart, and hammering the nails into the board to form a grid pattern. You can use a pencil to mark where the nails need to go.
Hand your child the yarn and the design board and watch them have fun wrapping the yarn around the nails to form cool designs.
